The Membership Council is responsible for the recruitment and maintenance of a vibrant, growing church membership. Working closely with the Minister of Membership and Outreach, the Council comprises a variety of approaches to the task and includes a number of specific activities:

* Information for visitors–packets and brochures, telephone calls and letters
* Recruitment of new members–advertising, church website
(in collaboration with the Website Manager)
* New UU classes (joint responsibility with ministers of the church)
* New member mentoring program
* Monthly all-church potlucks
* The Care Committee—food, transportation and TLC for shut-ins and other members in need.

In addition, the Council works collaboratively with several other church committees: the Welcoming Congregation Committee to ensure that all visitors and members feel welcome in the church; the Stewardship Committee to monitor church membership and financial solvency.

Not only does the Membership Council have broad responsibility for congregational life and growth, but we enjoy our work as a committee of the whole. Our meetings are replete with laughter and serious purpose, refreshments and good fellowship. Come join us!
