Announcement Committee On Shared Ministry: Listening Tour
In 2024, the Board of Directors established the Committee On Shared Ministry (COSM), and the committee began work in July 2024. The board charged the committee to “help foster the well-being of the congregation and ensure that the needs of the congregation are being met. So that there is fidelity to our principles and the values of Unitarian Universalism. The committee serves as a resource to the Board…”
To fulfill this charge, Committee members plan that at least one of us will be available after service each Sunday in the Great Hall for open dialogue with anyone interested in engaging with us. Each of us will be wearing badges that identify us as members of the committee. And we welcome any interactions with members and friends whenever we are available. We have also begun holding conversations with interested groups in the congregation. As we identify themes that are important to our charge, we will prepare summaries of the information that do not identify any sources. We also plan to use this information from more structured surveys in the future.
COSM members will be available at the back corner of the Great Hall, near the A/V booth, after the service. This will be to hold the space for a “Listening Corner”. If you have any thoughts on shared ministry, the congregation’s “end statements”, or anything that pertains to the congregation and its mission, we welcome you to stop by and share your thoughts anonymously as you wish.
We look forward to hearing from you through a variety of channels moving forward. Thank you!
