Mitten Tree 2024 to Support CARITAS North Pole
Mitten Tree 2024 will arrive Sunday November 17th! First UU’s Mitten Tree project has a long tradition of supporting those in need during the holiday season in our greater Richmond community. This year we are providing gifts to the residents living at CARITAS.
The name Caritas comes from the Latin wording meaning LOVE and COMPASSION, something this congregation has in abundance. The organization’s holiday giveaway will provide participants with gifts donated by the community. Please help us reach our goal of providing 170 gifts this holiday season.
Helping is easy. If you are attending services in person on Sundays November 17th through December 1st, stop by the Mitten Tree table just outside the Great Hall doors. You may choose as many Mittens as you like. If you are not able to attend services but would like to shop for a “Mitten”, my email is below, and I will provide you with a virtual Mitten. All Mitten Tree gifts must be returned to First UU no later than Sunday December 8th.
If you are unable to be with us in person or are not fond of shopping and would like to support the Mitten Tree, donations may be made at the Mitten Tree table or on the First UU donation page; indicate Mitten Tree 2024 with your donation.
Thank you for “making caring visible” in support of our greater community.

Mitten Tree 2024 Coordinator

No donation is required to participate – take what you need, leave what you don’t
This is such a great way to practice ways outside of capitalism. Drop off items that no longer serve you and take home some that might!
Donations will be accepted starting Monday, November 25 and through Friday at 2 PM.
Everything is free (unless you’d like to make a donation to support the Youth Group). Leftover items will go to Diversity Thrift. Forget Black Friday and try Buy Nothing Day!
